Last week, the rooftop parking deck at Kamen Quadrat, a shopping centre we manage, was transformed into an open-air cinema. This year marked the sixth edition of the annual Open-Air Cinema, a beloved event that has become a tradition in Kamen’s cultural life.
We welcomed around 150 attendees, kicking off the evening with a special short film on the history of coal mining, presented by the local association Monopol 2000 and the Dortmund Film Club. Among the guests was Manfred Wiedemann, the Deputy Mayor and a key figure in the film, whose presence added a personal touch to the event.
This event was made possible with the support of the City of Kamen, the Greenman OPEN fund, and our sister company, yes&, which actively promotes events and social projects at the properties we manage. Hosting events like the Open-Air Cinema is a key part of our ongoing commitment to fostering community connections and creating spaces for meaningful, intergenerational exchange.
Proceeds from the sale of food and drinks were donated to the Monopol 2000 association.
We look forward to continuing this tradition and supporting the social and cultural development of Kamen in the years to come!
